It varies greatly depending on variables such as the materials used in the structure, the number of walls or floors in the signal path, and the presence of other obstructions to wireless signals.  Outdoor “line of site” range is ~500-1000 feet.  Some example of the maximum range we have seen in the field are:
I. Hotel tower with masonry interior walls and concrete/steel deck floors – ~80 feet within a floor and 2 – 3 floors above and below the gateway
ii. 4000 sq ft residential construction – A single gateway provided 100% wireless coverage
iii. Hospital with interior gypsum and steel stud walls and concrete/steel deck floors - ~200 feet within a floor and 2-3 floors above and below the gateway.

For covering larger buildings simply add more gateways.  With our new G-3 series gateway with built in cellular data all you need is power and a cellular signal.
