A customer recently asked "I am expecting to see 26% WME yet I see only 7% WME. Why is that?"
The answer is that the sensor is not properly installed. If you see the sensor read between 6 and 9% WME that is what we call the "open circuit" value. As in the value a sensor reads when the WME connections are connected to nothing. Or air to be more precise.
The WME measurement requires an electrical connection to the material under test. Normally that is through 2 screws. The screws must make electrical contact with the sensor and the material under test. Please see this post for the screw requirements. The screws must be "hand tight". DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN! If you use a drill or impact driver you better have a "light touch".
