The following applies to S-2, S-11, and S-160 sensors:
These model sensors have a very helpful status LED. On the S-2 sensors the LED is well marked and visible on the front panel. On the S-11 and S-160 the LED is visible through the small hole on the bottom of the sensor.
For S-2, S-11 and S-160 when powered on LED will blink for one second indicating the sensor is functioning and after a 1-5 second delay will then stay on for about 10 seconds if a successful wireless link is established with a gateway. This provides instant confirmation of wireless connectivity.
If the LED never blinks or goes on then check the battery. ALWAYS replace the battery with a 3.6 volt ER14505 battery. NEVER replace the battery with a 1.5 V AA battery, it will not work!
If the LED blinks but does not shortly thereafter go on solid for 10 seconds then the sensor has a poor wireless link to the gateway or the gateway is powered off or the sensor is damaged. 99% of the time damage is either water damage or in the case of S-2 sensors the sensor was dropped which cracked the battery holder.
